Al-Khaleej FC is a Saudi football club based in Saihat, in the Eastern Province, founded in 1945. Twice second division champions, they are one of three clubs from the Gulf coast playing in the Saudi Pro League.

Two promotions sixteen years apart
Al-Khaleej have won the second division title twice, in 2005-06 and again in 2021-22. That second title brought them back to the top flight after a long absence.
The club also won the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Cup in 1999-2000, a competition then contested by second division sides.
A club of the pearl coast
Saihat and Qatif sit on the Gulf coast, a region whose economy long rested on pearl diving before oil arrived. The club’s nickname, Al-Danah, the pearls, comes directly from that history.
They play at Prince Nayef Sports City Stadium in Qatif, a ground of around twelve thousand a few kilometres from their home town.
The third club of the Eastern Province
The Eastern Province has three sides in the Saudi Pro League: Al-Ettifaq in Dammam, Al-Qadsiah in Khobar and Al-Khaleej in Saihat. The three towns follow one another along the coast within a few dozen kilometres.
That concentration gives the region unusual weight in a league where almost all the titles are decided in Riyadh and Jeddah.
